How long does a mechanical service usually take?
Most mechanical servicing is completed within 7 to 14 days. If parts need to be sourced — which occasionally happens with older or less common movements — we let you know the expected wait time before starting. Heritage restoration projects have their own agreed schedule, discussed with you at the outset.
Do I need to make an appointment to drop off my watch?
Walk-ins are welcome during opening hours for a first assessment. If your watch requires detailed discussion — particularly for heritage or restoration work — we would suggest a brief prior appointment so we have adequate time to give it proper attention.
Will you assess the watch before committing to full work?
Yes. We carry out an initial inspection and explain what we find before any service work begins. You will know the scope and cost before we proceed. There is no pressure to commit on the spot.
What kinds of watches do you work on?
We focus on mechanical and automatic movements — both modern and vintage. This includes hand-wound pocket watches, wristwatches from most Swiss and Japanese makers, and inherited pieces of sentimental value. We do not generally work on battery-operated quartz watches.
Is the pricing fixed, or can it vary?
Our listed prices reflect standard work. If a service reveals complications that require additional attention — or if parts need sourcing — we discuss the updated estimate with you before continuing. Nothing changes without your knowledge.
How should I bring in an old or fragile watch?
If the watch is particularly delicate or has loose parts, wrapping it in soft cloth inside a small box is sensible. Once it arrives, we handle it with appropriate care and note its condition on intake. If you are unsure, you are always welcome to call ahead and ask.
